Lloyd Eaton Billingsley
November 26, 1934 - July 18, 2024
Lloyd Eaton Billingsley, affectionately known as “The Bull” to his family, peacefully departed to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 18, 2024, in Tomball, TX. Born on November 26, 1934 in Houston, TX, he was the beloved son of Archie Lloyd Billingsley and Elizabeth Eaton Billingsley. Lloyd grew up in Liberty, TX, where he met the love of his life, Jo Ann Gilliland. He attended Texas A&M University, earning a degree in mechanical engineering in 1956. Lloyd was a proud alumnus, member of the Corps of Cadets, and a Ross Volunteer.
Lloyd and Jo Ann were married on June 2, 1956, and shared 68 beautiful years together. They were blessed with three children, Lee, Ross, and Ivy, who were his greatest accomplishments.
Lloyd was a dedicated Army man, businessman, family man, skilled wood worker and a gifted joke and storyteller, but above all, he was a man of God.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Jo Ann; children: Lee Billingsley (Kerry) of Cypress, TX, Ross Billingsley (Annette) of Navasota, TX, and Ivy Griffin (Tod) of Hockley, TX. His adored seven grandchildren: Taylor Griffin (Daria) of Aledo, TX, Megan Dimmick (Zack) of Cypress, TX, Lindsey Smock (Matt) of College Station, TX, Courtney Julian (Conner) of Tuscon, AZ, Emily Farney (Zach) of Irving, TX, Shelby McGee (Dustin) of Navasota, TX and Laney Billingsley of Cypress, TX and his nine great grandchildren: Paige and Zoey Griffin, Daphney and Owen Dimmick, Addison and Parker Smock, Jed Julian and Sage and Mia McGee.
Lloyd is also survived by his wife’s siblings: Jane and the late Albert Delaney, Jerry and Patricia Gilliland, Bailey and Jeraldine Peyton and Judy Baker.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, William Ross and James Robert “Bob” Billingsley; his grandson, Jacob Lloyd Billingsley and great grandson, Enoch Julian.
Lloyd’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Fairfield Baptist Church in Cypress, TX with a meal and visitation time to follow. A private graveside service will be held in Liberty, TX.
The family would like to thank all the friends and family who have supported and lifted up prayers during his difficult journey this last year. A special thanks to Three Oaks Hospice and all the caregivers at Harvest Home in Tomball who provided compassionate care during his final days.
