August 23, 1940 - August 1, 2024 

Robert P. Brooks, of Prospect Heights, Illinois, peacefully passed away on August 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Robert was born in Houston, Texas, on August 23, 1940, and spent his childhood in San Antonio, Texas. He proudly graduated from Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Accounting in 1962, where he was actively involved in the Fighting Texas Aggie Band and participated in the solemn tradition of Silver Taps. Robert served with honor in the United States Air Force as a Second Lieutenant, stationed in the Accounting and Finance department in Denver, Colorado, for four years. Following his military service, Robert enjoyed a distinguished 36-year career with Arthur Andersen before retiring in 2002.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Angela. He is survived by his devoted wife Barbara, his brother Rodney Brooks of Houston, Texas, and his loving children Carolyn (Joseph) Farr, Jason (Jeanette) Brooks, Aaron (Jenny) Brooks, and Thaddeus (Tracy) Brooks. He was a cherished grandfather to fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and a beloved uncle to two nieces and a nephew. Robert was a trusted friend and colleague to many.

Robert will be fondly remembered for his deep passion for music, which he shared generously with his family and friends. His unwavering support for the Aggies endeared him to many, especially on Saturdays during football season. Robert's legacy as a devoted spouse, father, and grandfather will be forever cherished, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary's Catholic Church, 10 N Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove, IL, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. A private interment will take place immediately after the mass.
