January 27, 1935 - August 3, 2024

On August 3rd, 2024, Wild Bill went to meet his maker. William Leslie Everett was born January 27th, 1935, in Greggton, Texas at his grandparents' house to Tom Everett and Frances Hope Fisher Everett. He graduated from Pine Tree High School in 1953 and shortly thereafter served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1953-1955. During that time he married his high school sweetheart, Frances Lee Lipsey in January 1955.

After Bill returned from the service he attended Commerce College and later graduated from Texas Agricultural and Mechanical College now known as Texas A&M University in 1960. Bill had a long and successful career in agriculture in which he worked for many industry leading feed and fertilizer companies. During his career he was a very sought after fertilizer plant builder. Some of the plants he built were: West Fertilizer in the city of West, Texas, Red-Barn Fertilizer in Freeport, Texas and American Plant Food Fertilizer in Tyler, Texas. He concluded his career with 10 years of service with the Texas Department of Agriculture.

Bill will be remembered for the love and pride he had in his heritage and family. He was a great storyteller, loved fishing, hunting, reading and dessert. He leaves behind precious memories with his wife of 69 blessed years Frances Everett, his three children: Bob Everett and his wife Heidi Everett, Mike Everett and his wife Laurie Everett, Leah Finley and her husband Jim Finley; three grandchildren: Anela Everett, Harper Finley and Hudson Finley; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
