Rebecca Marie Benedict 

February 5, 1955 - July 1, 2024 

Dr. Rebecca Benedict, 69, died suddenly in Houston on July 1, 2024. Dr. Benedict grew up in Middletown but had been a longtime resident and educator in Houston and later in New Mexico. She had the privilege of bringing her passion for education and people leadership to Stafford High School and Lamar CISD and most recently, Principal of Kirkland Central High School in New Mexico. She dedicated her life to helping others and teaching us the importance of continuous learning and giving back. Her love, laughter and generosity will be missed by all.

She is survived by three sisters, Elaine, Candy, and Karen, as well as several nieces and nephews. Her older brother, Jerry, and her parents, Zar and Virginia Benedict, predeceased her. A memorial service and burial will be private.
