Ernest Gordon Gregg was born July 31, 1939, the first-born child of Ernest and Leila Moehlman Gregg. In the early morning hours of August 6, 2024, Gordon was called from his earthly life to reunite in heaven with his beloved family.
Gordon graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Bryan, Texas in 1957. He went on to graduate from the A&M College of Texas in 1961. After a long and varied working career, Gordon retired to his roots in College Station in 2003. During his lifetime he was active in many community and church organizations and was known for his devotion to Texas A&M. He was an avid supporter of Aggie athletics, attending as many events as possible as long as his health allowed.
Gordon is survived his beloved wife of almost 39 years, LaNell Gregg; his daughter, Sharon Gregg Majewski and her husband, Rick and his grandchildren, Matt Majewski and his wife, Brittany; Megan Gresso and her husband, Robbie; Mallory McFarland and her husband, Shawn and Madison Majewski as well as great-grandsons, Logan and Cameron Majewski. He is also survived by his step-daughter, Lesa Lambert and her husband, Marty; step-grandchildren Jay Petesch, Jennifer Becker, Jaedyn Lambert, Nicholas Anderson and Emily Anderson-Hancock as well as step great-grandson, Stephen Bietz. In addition, he is survived by his brother, Glenn H. Gregg and his wife, Mona; his sister, Linda Goebel and her husband, Bob; his sister, Della Scanlen and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Gordon was preceded in death by his step-son, Mark Boultinghouse and step-grandson, Steven Boultinghouse.
A visitation will be held Friday, August 9, 2024, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Memorial Funeral Chapel – College Station. The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:00am at A&M Church of Christ.
Should you so desire, memorials may be made to the organization of your choice in lieu of flowers. The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice Brazos Valley whose kind and loving staff took such good care of Gordon in his final days.
