David Edwin McKay

October 31, 1963 - August 3, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David Edwin McKay on Saturday, August 3, 2024. David was born on October 31, 1963, in Valdosta, GA to John and Charlotte McKay.

David enjoyed traveling during his growing up years with his military family. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor's in Architecture and Landscape Development. His career took him abroad to the United Arab Emirates, where he worked for several years before returning to the United States to pursue and obtain his Master’s in Business Administration through St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas. David pursued several entrepreneurial endeavors before moving to Frisco, TX, where he began a successful career in Real Estate Development.

David was an enthusiast of many interests, including cultural art collecting, cooking, golf, music, oil painting, drones, fishing, and reading. He enjoyed a variety of hobbies and became an expert in each, always eager to learn and master new skills.

David is survived by his mother, Charlotte Robinson McKay (Frisco, TX); his sister, Holly Suzanne McKay (Frisco, TX); his niece and her husband, Ashlynn McKay Lurkens and Bryce Lurkens; his nephews, Jameson Gray Crandell (New Haven, CT) and Jackson Lewis Crandell (Atlanta, GA); and his youngest niece, Catherine Grace Crandell (Frisco, TX). David was preceded in death by his father, John Gray McKay, Jr.

David's legacy of passion, curiosity, and dedication will be remembered by all who knew him, and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ministry Fund at Preston Trail Community Church, Frisco, TX.
