Curtis David Parent 

December 3, 1961 - August 10, 2024 

Curtis D. Parent went to his final resting place with the Lord on August 10, 2024. Curtis was on a planned fishing trip in Alamosa, CO with his good friend David Martinez when he passed. He was born December 3, 1961 in Olathe, KS to Richard and Louise (Caron) Parent.

He attended schools in Germany, Connecticut, Oklahoma, New Jersey, Kansas, New York and California, graduating from Jakarta International School in Jakarta, Indonesia. He was an honor student excelling in academics and athletics. He went on to graduate from the U.S. Military Academy Preparatory School, Fort Monmouth, NJ, and attended the U.S Military Academy at West Point, NY. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in May 1980.

Curtis earned his B.S Degree in Engineering from Texas A & M University and subsequently a Masters Degree in Engineering from Texas Tech University. He was employed by E-Systems, Garland, TX, Raytheon Corp and L3 Corp where he retired as Director of Business Development, Greenville, TX. He retired in 2018 and relocated to Indialantic, FL where he resided at the time of his death.

Curtis was an active member in the Rockwall - Heath Community coaching girls soccer, softball, and basketball, and YMCA father daughter organizations. Curtis was a loving father, son and brother and friend to many. In his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his friend and companion Regi Miller, traveling, hanging at the beach, fishing, golf and was an avid supporter of Texas A & M Aggie sports teams.

He is survived by his parents, Richard & Louise Parent, a brother Devin Parent, daughters - Devanne Parent, Paige Parent and Brooke Parent, and his former wife and mother of his children Cyndi Parent.

Curtis was a former communicant of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Rockwall.

Funeral mass will be held 11:00 am Friday, August 23, 2024 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Rockwall, TX. A visitation of family and friends will be held at Rest Haven Funeral Home- Rockwall, TX on Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with a rosary at 7pm. A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 10:00 am at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
