Lance William Milke 

January 27, 1999 - August 18, 2024 

Lance William Milke, a cherished son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on August 18, 2024, leaving a profound void in the lives of all who knew him. Born on January 27, 1999, in Plano, Texas, Lance’s vibrant spirit and boundless compassion touched many lives throughout his 25 years.

Lance grew up in Red Oak and Ovilla, where his talents and passions began to shine. A gifted athlete, he excelled in baseball and was particularly outstanding on the field. His prowess extended to football, where he earned the nickname “Snappa” as a quarterback, a role he embraced with dedication and skill. His love for sports was matched by his adventurous spirit, as evidenced by a memorable college skiing trip to Colorado.

An alumnus of Red Oak High School, Lance graduated in 2017 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Texas A&M University in 2021. His commitment to helping others was further demonstrated through his pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Tyler Junior College, where he graduated in 2023. His dedication to his nursing career was recognized with two Daisy Nursing Awards, and he was fondly remembered for his “Best Smile” and “Greatest Hair” at the Children’s Hospital of Dallas.

Lance’s impact was not limited to his professional achievements. He was known for his deep compassion, always making those around him feel valued and cherished. His love for people was evident in his everyday interactions, where his warmth and care created a lasting impression. Outside of work, Lance enjoyed a rich array of interests. He had a deep appreciation for music, from Morgan Wallen and Post Malone to Travis Scott and classic Texas country tunes. He took pleasure in cooking healthy meals and playing darts, hobbies that reflected his balanced and engaging lifestyle. Family memories of a special cruise to Mexico highlight his love for travel and spending quality time with loved ones.

Lance is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Marshall Slape; his paternal grandfather Robert Milke Sr.; and his uncle David Milke.

Lance is survived by his parents Robert William and Marlee S. Milke; his brothers Tanner Milke and wife Meredith of Midlothian, and Ridge Milke and wife Lauren of Midlothian; his grandmother Anne Slape of Allen, TX; his uncle Drew Milke and wife Jamie of Lafayette, LA; his nephew Nolan; and his nieces Halle, Lorelai, and Andi.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23rd from 6-8 PM at Green Funeral Home – Red Oak. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 24th at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Red Oak. Interment following funeral service at Midlothian Cemetery.
