Isaac Kendrick "Ike" Frazer, III 

February 3, 1940 - November 15, 2023 

Isaac (Ike} Kendrick Frazer, III passed away on November 15, 2023 after an extended illness. He was born on February 3, 1940 in Jacksonville, Texas to Kendrick & Marie Frazer of Rusk.

He attended Rusk Public Schools, graduating in 1958, and went on to Texas A & M University on a track scholarship, lettering in the Southwest Conference. He graduated in 1962 with a degree in accounting.

His first job was with Pan American Oil Company in Houston. He then came back to Rusk and worked in the accounting office at Rusk State Hospital before becoming a part of the tax and audit team at Axley & Rode in Nacogdoches until 1968 when he became executive vice president of the Lufkin Federal Savings and Loan. Later he became President of Nacogdoches Savings & Loan until 1990 when he moved back to Rusk and was the Assistant Superintendent at the Rusk State Hospital, holding that position until he retired in 2000. He then opened his own real estate office in Rusk, and he has continued working there as long as his health permitted.

He was married to Jackie Lavonne Stallings on July 1, 1960, and they had three children, Chris, Tracey, and Steve. On July 5, 1987 he married, Arlene Faye Shankles.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Arlene; his daughter Tracey Murphy; his son Chris Frazer; his stepson Chris Waddell, and his brother Ron Frazer. He is survived by one son, Steve Frazer of Chandler, Texas; stepdaughters, Brenda West of Arlington & Rebecca Parsons of Rusk; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews; and sister-in-law, Judy Frazer.

He is a member of The Covenant Church in Rusk. He and Arlene built a home on the family farm and his main interest there was his cattle which he enjoyed very much, and caring for his & Arlene's 2 great granddaughters.

There will be a memorial service in Rusk on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, 10 a.m. at East Side Baptist Church, 4001 N. Academy Street, Rusk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to County Roads Rescue.
