Jessica Leigh Sloan 

June 5, 1995 - September 23, 2024 

Jessica Leigh Sloan, 29, of Willis, Texas went to be with Jesus in Heaven on Monday, September 23, 2024.

Jessica was born on June 5, 1995 to Cary and Lauri Sloan at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, South Carolina.

After Jessica graduated from Magnolia West High School in 2014, she studied Sport Management and swam on the Texas A&M Women’s Swimming and Diving Team. In 2018, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Jessica worked as a CFII Instructor (Certified Flight Instructor Instrument) in Addison, Texas, Raleigh, North Carolina and was the lead flight instructor at ATP Flight School in Conroe, Texas until February of 2021. After being diagnosed with brain cancer, she worked as a Training Support Specialist at ATP, studied and received her insurance sales license and taught private ground school lessons. In 2022, she worked as a career counselor for U.S. Aviation. Jessica trained at the Houston Fire Department Academy and also worked as an E.M.T. for Montgomery County Hospital District.

Many that knew her said she was the strongest person they knew and a great role model. Her passion for swimming and flying and go-getter attitude motivated those around her. She had an amazing ability to get people laughing during tough times. Jessica lived life to the fullest, worked hard, influenced countless people and took care of everyone. Her favorite place to travel to was Hawaii. She loved the beach, the breeze, snorkeling and surfing. She also loved her Great Danes.

Jessica was a blessing to those that knew her and will be greatly missed.

Jessica is survived by her fiancé, Cristian Gunnels, her older brother, Jacob Sloan (Madison) and nephew, Shepard Sloan, her parents, Cary and Lauri Sloan and her grandparents, Berna Dean Lawrence and Debbie and Gary Sloan.

A Celebration of Life Service honoring Jessica will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 7th at Conroe-North Houston Regional Airport, 10013 Military Drive, Conroe, TX 77303, gate 8 to the Barksdale Hanger 23-B. Reception to follow at the Southern Star Brewing Company, 3525 N. Frazier St, Conroe, TX 77303

Jessica’s favorite color was lavender/purple. In her last weeks here she loved wearing bold prints with butterflies or flowers. We would like to honor Jessica by asking guests to wear something with lavender/purple, flowers or butterflies or your uniform if you worked with Jessica.
