Edgar Miles Woods, 77, formerly of Texarkana, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 6, 2024 in Rockwall, Texas. Born July 1, 1947 to Francis Burnett Woods and Otis Woods in Longview, Texas, Edgar lived a life rich with love, dedication, and service to his family and community.
Edgar was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, where he earned his degree in industrial safety engineering. His professional career was marked by his expertise and passion for his field, but it was his personal life where he truly shone.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Connie Anderson Woods, his wife of 42 years, and his son, Christopher Anderson. Edgar is survived by his 3 devoted children: Chad Woods and his wife, Nancy, of Gordonville, TX, Heather Weaver and her husband, Nick, of Fate, TX, and Matthew Woods of Denver, CO, as well as his 6 cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Jacob, Mason, Kevie, Paityn, and Savannah. His family remembers him as a loving and involved father who coached his sons' Little League teams, volunteered with Cub Scouts, and made countless memories attending father-daughter dances with his daughter.
Edgar had a deep passion for researching genealogy, a hobby that connected him with his family's history and traditions. He also found joy in spending quality time with his children and grandchildren, creating lasting bonds and treasured moments.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 11:00am in Starville Cemetery in Winona, Texas under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2024 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Reflections-Rest Haven Rockwall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial donation to the Cure PSP in honor of Edgar who fought this progressive disease gallantly.
