Roll Call Tribute

Denise Perkins '97 October 22, 2024 10:52 AM updated: October 22, 2024 11:10 AM

Denise Marie (Livingston) Perkins

April 1, 1975 - October 15, 2024

Denise Perkins, 49, of Bryan, Texas passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at her home surrounded by family.

Denise Marie Perkins was born on April 1, 1975 in Garland, Texas to David and Olivia Livingston. She had two siblings, Jennifer and Daniel. While growing up, Denise was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan, a good athlete and an avid reader. In high school, she moved to College Station. Her fun loving and kind personality allowed her to be voted “Most Friendly” at A&M Consolidated High school. While at Texas A&M, she majored in Nutritional Sciences and was an active member in the Aggies for Christ organization. While in the AFC she went on mission trips to Southeast Asia and the Pacific Northwest. In the course of time she fell in love with her soon to be husband, Michael and was married to him for 26 wonderful years. Denise was mother to 4 beautiful children: Chloe, Phoebe, Isaiah and Jude and absolutely loved being a mother.

In 2013, just 4 months after opening Inspire Physical Therapy with her husband, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. After making it successfully through those treatments, sadly the breast cancer metastasized to her brain in 2015. For nearly 10 more years she fought the disease valiantly and with strong faith. In fact, three different doctors called Denise a miracle. All the while, Denise did not let her cancer define her as she attended all of her kid’s ballgames, was a member of the booster club, Pink Alliance, a bunko and book club, and many other groups.

Denise trusted God through it all and was known for her statement, “God’s plan for us is perfect.” Those who were close to Denise could only admire her, and Michael constantly lived in awe of her trust in our Lord. She was deeply loved by her family and friends. While we know we will see her again, she will be missed by all who knew her. A beautiful soul has won her reward.
