Robert M. "Bob" Owens 

February 1, 1942 - September 8, 2024 

Robert M. "Bob" Owens, age 82, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, September 8, 2024.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, George and Leone Owens, his daughter Nicole Rummer, and his stepdaughter Diana Adams-Burgess

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Roma Owens; his children, Michael (Berna Anderson) Owens and Dana Konicek; his stepchildren, John White and Cathy Rader. Bob’s legacy also includes his cherished grandchildren, Nathan Konicek, Jack Konicek, and MaKenna Rummer; his step-grandchildren, James (Sydney) Adams III, William (Veronica) Burgess, Alexis Cole, and Mitchell Rader; and his great-grandchildren, Oliver Adams, Scarlett Adams, Brooklyn Cole, Liam Cole, and Harley Cole. He is also remembered by a host of friends.

Bob was a distinguished graduate of Hastings College, Iowa State University, and Texas A&M University, where he earned his PhD. He enjoyed a successful career as a chemist, working for Conoco in Oklahoma for 17 years and Dupont for 13 years before retiring. He was a proud member of the American Chemical Society (ACS).

In his leisure time, Bob found joy in sailing, taking multiple cruises to Alaska, skiing, tinkering around the house, and cheering on the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Rd, Grove City, OH with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Dan Jackson. Interment will take place at Grove City Cemetery East.
