Thomas Ray Pledger
March 12, 1929 - September 4, 2024
Thomas Ray Pledger, born March 12, 1929 in Dallas, TX, passed into the arms of The Lord on September 4, 2024 at the age of 95, in Big Spring, TX.
Raised in Tyler, TX by his parents George and Deborah Pledger and survived his brother Roy of College Station, TX, he went by the nickname of Toby. He joined the Marine Corps and was stationed at Cherry Point, NC and MCAS Ewa, Hawaii until entering the Quartermaster Corps at Texas A&M University. He graduated in 1957 with a BS in Geology and was employed as an Oil and Gas Reservoir Engineer and a Civil Engineer for the Corps of Engineers in Ft. Worth, TX.
He had a passion for witnessing The Lords gospel to all he met and lived his life as a Christian. He is survived by three sons, Joe, Casey and Sammy, five grandsons and five great-grandchildren. Thomas was a resident of Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home of Big Spring, TX, where he was well cared for and supported by a loving staff. In lieu of any memorial, please contribute to the LLS Facility. He will be interned at Tyler Memorial Cemetery, Tyler TX.
