John E. Frandolig, Sr.
July 6, 1934 - October 23, 2024
John Frandolig, Sr., age 90, passed away peacefully at home in Lincoln, NE, on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. He was born to loving parents Ernest Eugene and Mary Etta (Willis) Frandolig in Aransas Pass, TX on October 23rd, 2024.
Following his graduation as a cadet from Texas A&M University in 1955, he was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army in the United States Chemical Corp. He was assigned to the Radiological Defense Laboratory in 1958. Following his service, he obtained his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University in 1963. He worked for Exxon Mobil for several years where he obtained a patent.
In 1962, John married the love of his life, Carol (Hatch). Soon after, he entered the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX, and received his Medical Degree in 1970. He finished his residency in Pediatrics in 1973. He practiced medicine in Texas, Arkansas, and North Dakota before retiring in 1991. Despite his professional accomplishments, he was most proud of his 15 medical mission trips to Haiti.
He lived a life full of adventures with the goal of helping others, spreading love and having an impact that would last beyond his life. Despite his education or professions, he never used his designations in his signatures or introductions. He was a humble man who enjoyed his conversations and relationships with all who he encountered.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Carol Frandolig; their children, John Frandolig, Jr. (and wife Peggy Frandolig) of Downingtown, PA, Mark Frandolig (and wife Joanne Frandolig) of Lincoln, NE, and Ann Willis of Big Sandy, TX. John had a special loving relationship with his grandsons, Ben Frandolig, Michael Frandolig, and Zachary Frandolig. John is also survived by his sister, Mary Gene Frandolig. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Joe Frandolig and Jim Frandolig.
John's wishes were that any memorials be sent anonymously to the senders favorite charity.
A Private service will be held at a later date, attended by immediate family members only.
