Deanna Kay (Robertson) Biggers

September 25, 1961 - September 5, 2024

On Thursday, September 5, 2024, Deanna Kay Robertson Biggers, loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend passed away at the age of 62.

Deanna was born on September 25, 1961 in Pasadena, TX to Charles and Ava Robertson. She graduated from LaPorte High School in 1980, where she played clarinet in the marching band and was head twirler. She received her bachelor’s degree in education from Texas A&M University in 1984. There she met the love of her life, Steve Biggers. They were married on December 28, 1985. They raised two daughters, Laura and Linsay, in Brenham, TX.

Deanna was incredibly kind, loving, optimistic, and patient. She loved God and helping others; a woman with a true servant’s heart. She loved watching sports, especially softball and baseball, and her favorite team was the Houston Astros. Although she was passionate about math and numbers, she was also very creative. She was a wonderful painter, seamstress, and crafter. For the past 25 years, she and Steve ran a successful business together, proving to make the perfect team in all they did. They enjoyed traveling in their RV, eating Mexican food, listening to live music, and dancing at the Kenney Store. Most recently, she enjoyed building Legos and learning new things like playing the ukulele.

Deanna’s greatest joy in life was being “Nana” to her 4 grandchildren: Rhody, Reid, and Rhett Hertel, and Waylan Brace, and was thrilled to know a second Brace grandson was on the way. She loved playing with them, reading to them, and being there for every special moment in their lives.

“When your heart is full of faith, there is no room for fear.” - Deanna Kay Biggers

She is survived by her husband Steve Biggers, daughter Laura Hertel and son-in-law Tyler Hertel, daughter Linsay Brace and son-in-law Marc Brace, and grandchildren Rhody, Reid, and Rhett Hertel, and Waylan Brace; her mother, Ava Robertson; sister Janice Teague and husband Stan, sister Kimberly Turner and husband Greg, and brother-in-law Todd Guest and wife Rebecca; nephews and nieces Kyle Guest and wife Jessica, Courtney Guest and boyfriend Bryan Carter, Jason Guest, Claire Teague, Matalyn Teague, Cole Turner, and Brady Turner; and great-nephews Benjamin & Samuel Guest.

Deanna was preceded in death by her father Charles “Pete” Robertson Sr., sister Caryn Robertson Guest, brother Pete Robertson Jr., and in laws Wendell and Barbara Biggers.

Serving as pallbearers are Tracy Andreas, Joey Hanks, Tony Krueger, Marcus LaGrange, Nathaniel Meiske, Jimmy Reynolds, W.D. Smith, and Len Vaughn.

The family would like to thank Dr. George Carrum, the Floor 15 Nurses, and all the incredible staff at Methodist Hospital for their care, devotion, and support of Deanna throughout her journey.

The visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 11 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main, in Brenham, TX from 5-7 pm. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 12 at Center Church--Brenham, 304 N Market St, Brenham, TX at 12:30 pm with Pastor Kyle Ogle officiating. Graveside service will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery, and a reception will be held at The Kenney Store, 811 S. Loop 497, Kenney, TX afterwards.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Aplastic Anemia and MDS International Foundation.
