James Roland "Jim" Lindholm, II
July 21, 1951 - September 3, 2024
James "Jim" Lindholm died peacefully at his home in Schertz, Texas on September 3, 2024. Jim was born July 21, 1951 in Junction City, Kansas to James Roland Lindholm and Marguerite Lindholm. He married Sharon in 1973. He then went on to raise his two children, go to school, and work as a police officer for Texas A&M University. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1988 with his Bachelor degree in History. He then became a Sergeant Detective only to retire in 2006 after 26 years. He then went on to become a State Fire Marshall and retired after 6 years. He was also a 2001 graduate of the FBI National Academy.
Jim was a well-respected police officer for many years. He was so proud to be an integral part of the community. Jim lived life to the fullest. He was a man of many words and loved to tell stories. He loved to smile and laugh. He loved to read. He was handy and could fix just about anything. But overall, his family was his number one pride and joy.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife Sharon, his brother Gregory, his father James and his mother Marguerite. He is survived by his wife Susan Lindholm, his son James R. Lindholm III and his wife Katy Lindholm, his daughter Patricia C. Smith, and his grandchildren Gavyn Moore, Brayden Smith, Skye Smith, Ashlynn Smith and his great granddaughter Ava Moore. He is also survived by his brother-in-law David Ludwig.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday September 8, 2024, at Bryan City Cemetery 1111 N. Texas Avenue, Bryan, Texas 77803. In Lieu of flowers please donate to Texas A&M University Police Department in his honor and acknowledgments can be sent to 626 brooks Avenue, Schertz, Tx 78154.
