James R. McGehee 

September 21, 1946 - October 8, 2024 

James R. McGehee, 78 years old, of Monroe, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024, in the presence of his wife and son.

He was a native Texan who never forgot his Texas roots, and many knew him as a diehard Texas Aggie, having graduated from Texas A&M University in 1970. He was also a longtime resident of Monroe, and grew to love the people and his many years in North Louisiana. He will be remembered as a big man with a big personality, who was always honest, and loved fiercely.

He was preceded in death by his elder son, Brandon. He is survived by his wife, Teddi; younger son, Blake; daughter-in-law, Ashleigh; two grandsons, James and Wyatt; and other extended family members.

The family would like to personally thank Dr. Kerry Anders for decades of faithful support and medical care, as well as St. Francis Medical Center, its nursing staff, caring physicians, and other clinical services for the wonderful care provided over the years.

Services will be held at Mulhearn Funeral Home of Monroe on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, with visitation from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, followed immediately by a celebration of life service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity or sent to St. Jude’s Hospital for children.
