Grady Eugene "Gene" Durham, Jr.
July, 1930 - November 26, 2022
Grady Eugene Durham, Jr. passed away November 26, 2022 in Georgetown, Texas, where he lived the last 19 years of his life.
Grady was a veteran of the Korean war. He served as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps with medal honors. He worked in Aerospace for his entire career, retiring after 36 years as an Associate Program Manager on the Space Shuttle Program earning one of the first era Snoopy Awards given by the astronauts.
Mr. Durham, Texas A&M Class of 1956, wore his Aggie Ring until the moment of his death. He was very proud of his Aggie education and the friends and professors he had as teachers. He loved telling stories of his college days, and the friends who were still in his heart and memories.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, 5 children, 8 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. He died peacefully at home after celebrating his 92nd birthday.
He was much loved by all who knew him as friend or fellow worker. He was an amazing person who touched many lives in very positive ways, having mentored many young engineers and employees. Grady achieved many awards and promotions during his military and working life but always felt that it was team work that brought on the success of the goal. He was very humble and gave his success to the people that worked so hard to achieve completion of all the tasks they were given.
