Jerry C. McDaniel 

May 12, 1937 - October 23, 2023 

Jerry Carroll McDaniel, age 86 of Lexington, KY, formerly of Bedford, VA died October 23, 2023 at home surrounded by family. He was born May 12, 1937 in Gainesville, Texas. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Rad and Anita McDaniel; sister, Sandra M. Nichols; niece, Diane McDaniel, and great-niece, Kristin McDaniel. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carla Jo; daughter, Julie McDaniel Wu (David) of Lexington, KY; two grandsons, Micah McDaniel Wu (Angie Willcutt) of Cincinnati, OH and Joshua David Wu of Lexington, KY, and his brother, Bobby L. McDaniel of Melbourne, FL.

Jerry was a graduate of Texas A&M University. He served in the US Navy from 1961 until 1964. He was a Soil Scientist with the US Department of Agriculture until he retired in 1997. Jerry worked in the following counties in Virginia - Campbell, Cumberland, Lunenburg, Bedford, Henry, and Franklin.

Jerry was a member of Bedford Baptist Church where he served on several committees, was a deacon and a Sunday School teacher.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bedford Baptist Church, 1516 Oakwood Street, Bedford, VA 24523. A memorial service will be held on November 4th, 2023 11am at Bedford Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Khol Rev. Phil Bailey officiating. There will be a lunch reception after the service, but no visitation.
