Roll Call Tribute

Keith Taylor Moore 

January 4, 1965 - October 13, 2023 

Keith Taylor Moore was the third child born to Sherrell E. Moore Sr. and Denolis (Taylor) Moore, in the Center Union Community near Smithville, Texas. Keith accepted Christ at an early age at Hart's Chapel United Methodist Church in Smithville.

Keith attended Smithville Independent School District until he graduated from high school in 1983. As a junior high school student, Keith was on the football team. He amused the spectators, because he often ran in the opposite direction of anyone who attempted to tackle him. As a high school student, he found his niche competing in UIL prose, poetry and one act play. He often achieved 1st place honors. On the 15th day of May 1980, The Smithville Chapter of the National Honor Society presented Keith with a certificate for UIL- prose interpretation and one act play.

Upon graduation from Smithville High School, Keith was awarded a scholarship to attend Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. He remained at Southwestern University until he decided to join the work force. However, he never gave up on his dream to complete his college education. In later years, Keith was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree, from University of Phoenix and a Master of Science degree from Texas A & M University in College Station, Texas.

At the time of his passing, Keith was employed as a dispute resolution specialist with Norwegian Cruise Lines.

Keith was one in a million! He was a generous person who loved sharing his smile, words of support, comfort and encouragement with others. He was a faithful supporter of the historic Cunningham and Washington Cemeteries where many who lived in the Center Union Community are laid to rest.

He leaves to mourn his passing: his brother, Sherrell E. Moore Jr.(Delores); his sister, Wanda Moore(Charles); 8 nieces and nephews; 11 great nieces and nephews; special cousins including, Mrs. Marie Pickens and Brian Allen; members of the Graves/Edwards family; and a host of people too numerous to count.
