John Clay Wyatt, Sr.
October 10, 1944 - April 29, 2023
John Clay Wyatt, 78, of Tilden, Texas passed away on April 29, 2023, peacefully at his residence. He was born on October 10, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas to Clay Wyatt and Clara Dilworth Wyatt.
John was a family man who believed men were to protect and care for the ladies in their lives. This was instilled at a very young age as he cared for his grandmother. While attending Texas A&M University, Class of ’68, he met the love of his life, Judy. He would spend the next 52 years married to her, loving her, and always putting her needs, wants, and desires before his own.
John was a crafty man who could brainstorm an idea and then figure out how to make it come into reality. He had a gift of being able to just look at something and visualize, duplicate, or improve it. He enjoyed making western-themed decoupage art and was an amazing craftsman of belt buckles.
He and his wife enjoyed bass fishing, hunting, shooting, and just being outdoors together. John was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather, and will be missed dearly.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Clay and Clara Wyatt; and his brother and sister-in-law Bill and JoAn Henry.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy; son, John Wyatt, Jr. and his wife Amber; brothers, Ralph Henry and his wife Sharon, and Bob Wyatt and his wife Anna Rose; sisters, Susie Linehan and her husband Jim, and Sallie Swaim and her husband Murray; grandchildren, Tate and Maeve Wyatt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
