William "Bill" Gaddis '86 November 14, 2024 4:21 PM updated: November 14, 2024 4:26 PM

William Martin "Bill" Gaddis

April 9, 1961 - October 28, 2024

William (Bill) Martin Gaddis, age 63, passed away at his home in Van Alstyne, Texas on Monday, October 28, 2024, along with the love of his life for 37 years, Patricia Ann Wilkirson and their beloved dog, Lou Lou. Bill was born in Topeka, Kansas on April 9, 1961, to Dan and Dorothy Gaddis. He was their fourth child and only son.

Bill lived in California at an early age, until his dad’s railroad career brought his family to Amarillo, Texas in 1970. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1979. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and a master’s degree from the University of Dallas in 1990. He went on to get his Professional Engineering license and had a successful Engineering career working as a contractor for Texas Instruments (TI) in Sherman and Richardson TX.

Bill and Pati met at TI in Sherman and lived in Howe, TX before building their dream home in Van Alstyne. They worked together on their home for 5 years to get it completed. They were proud of the home they built and loved to be there always working together on another project. Bill was a dependable, intelligent, respected, hard worker, (some would affectionately say a perfectionist) and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed listening to classic rock, working out in his home gym, playing golf, and watching his beloved Aggies. He was loved by so many and was a great man.

Bill is survived by his stepdaughter, Krystal Wilkirson, father, Dan Moody Gaddis, two sisters, Barbara (Collin) Fowler, Danna (David) Moore of Amarillo, TX and his brother-in-law Randy Tucker of Floresville, TX and his nieces and nephews and their families, Kaysha (Kyle) Ireland and Preston Fowler of Amarillo, TX, Jamason Fowler of Denton TX, Leslie (Joey) Gunn of Anna, TX, Jonathan (Kyleigh) Moore of Arvada, CO, Steve (Courtney) Tucker of Adkins, TX and Scott (Rachel) Tucker of Waco, TX. He is also survived by Pati’s family, her Mom, Inge Taylor, sister, Karen (Randy) Taylor, two brothers, Bobby (Rhonda) Taylor, and Jeff (Renea) Taylor, all of Denison, TX, and three nephews and their families, Ryan (Paula) Taylor of Corsicana TX, Jordan (Meghan) Taylor of Spring TX and Chance Taylor of Columbus, SC.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Gaddis, his older sister, Teresa Tucker and his father-in-law, Bob Taylor.

A memorial service for Bill will be held at 11 am on Monday, November 18, 2024, at Victory Life Church, 4100 N Travis St. Sherman Texas, with Pastor Stan Roberts officiating. Bill, Pati, and Lou Lou’s cremains will be buried in a vault at his father-in- law, Bob Taylor’s gravesite at a later date.
