A funeral service will be held for Garod Joe Garrison, 52, of Lumberton, Texas at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 11, 2023 at Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home. Bro. Kevin Cox officiating.
Garod passed away on August 28, 2023 in Lumberton, Texas. He was born on April 26, 1971 in El Reno, Oklahoma to Joseph Garrison and Glenda Hitt Garrison.
Garod graduated in 1989 from KHS. He attended and graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Psychology; he went on to receive his Master from Lamar University in Beaumont in counseling. He retired in 2021 from an outstanding career at the Bureau of Prisons.
Garod was not only the best brother, but best friend to his brother, Garland. He always would listen, hardly ever judged. Garod had a big heart and was always kind to others. He loved the mountains, fishing and golf. Fly fishing was a favorite. Garod was a proud father, brother, uncle, son and friend. He was 100% devoted to his daughter, Izzy. Garod’s world was always about his precious daughter and giving her the best life. His love was endless. Garod will always be remembered for the kind and gentle soul who loved Izzy more than life. Garod’s memories will live on in the hearts of those that loved him.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Garrison; grandparents, Roy and Modell Hitt, Owen “Doc” and Elsie Garrison.
Garod is survived by his beloved daughter, Isabella “Izzy” Garrison; mother, Glenda Garrison; brother Garland Garrison; nieces Kaitey Day and husband Caleb, Callie Garrison; nephew, Samuel Garrison.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 11, 2023 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Lone Oak Cemetery in Kemp, Texas.
