Steven Anthony Luna, 48, of Kyle Texas, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday September 21, 2024 after a six year long battle with Ocular Melanoma.
Steven was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 1, 1975. Steven was proud to be a Texan. He loved his time at College Station and became a die hard fighting Texas Aggie. He prided himself in being a 12th man and loved the Aggie way of life. He loved hunting, fishing, cattle and livestock. He enjoyed Big Bend and the Frío River. He loved West Texas the most as he has fond memories of friends and family there. He loved history and stories by Louis L’amour. He found joy in nature, and often talked with God at his ranch about life and the concerns of his heart.
Steven graduated from Weimar high school and went on to study Agricultural Economics at Texas A&M University and transferred to Texas State University where he graduated with a bachelors degree and eventually a Masters degree in Business Management.
Steven spent his adult life working hard and providing for his family at the Texas Animal Health Commission and Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. He has many friends and coworkers he loves at both agencies.
He was a devoted husband and father and a faithful servant of Jesus Christ and His gospel. In 1995-1996 he had the opportunity to serve a mission for his church in Novosibirsk Russia. He grew to love the land, the language and the wonderful people he served there.
In 1999 he married his eternal companion Rebecca Ann Jones in the Dallas, Texas temple. They just celebrated their 25 anniversary.
Steven is survived by his wife, Becky and their son Brock age 11. His mother Diana Wilder Luna and his sisters Dreama Pulley and Dila Happold of Washington State. He is preceded in his death by his father Robert “Tom” Luna, an aunt and three uncles in Maine and numerous cousins.
