October 21, 1944 - November 12, 2024

Rayford Richard (Dick) Carey passed away peacefully at 12:51am on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

He was a great man, accomplished, kind, a devoted son and brother, a football captain, an Eagle Scout, a proud Aggie, a Yell Leader, a Ross Volunteer, a board member in many organizations in Granbury such as Boys and Girls Club and the Lake Granbury Medical Center Board of Trustees, supported Mission Granbury and the Ada Carey Center for Women and Children, a Lieutenant and then Captain in the US Marine Corps. Throughout his life, he found success in business, traveled the world, and devoted himself to helping others. He loved his family and friends above all else. His kindness, humor, and generosity touched everyone who knew him. He embodied the Marine Corps motto semper fidelis, always faithful.

He is survived by his wife Patti Carey, his son Knox Carey and wife Diana, his daughter Brooke Carey Ney and husband Brian and his son Taylor Carey. He leaves behind his siblings Jean Hensley, Rex Carey, Kent Carey and wife Nancy, Betsy Pedigo and husband Bill, brother-in-law Jan Costilow, many nieces and nephews and countless friends.

His legacy will carry on forever.
