Fred N. Haddad, 92, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2024, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi, following a short illness. Born on April 8, 1932, in El Paso, Texas, to Goson and Mary Haddad, Fred lived a full life marked by service, dedication, and a passion for connecting with others.
Fred graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in business, where he was also a proud member of the ROTC program. He went on to serve his country as a Colonel in the United States Air Force. His discipline, leadership, and sense of duty left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
A born entrepreneur, Fred owned and operated Sante Fe Furniture Store and All About Travel Agency in El Paso. His career also took him and his family to Odessa, Houston, and Singapore, where he was involved in the oil industry. Upon returning to the United States, he shifted into the insurance business in Arkansas and Mississippi. Later in life, Fred found his true calling as a car salesman at Fowler Buick in Pearl, Mississippi. His love for people and natural charisma made him a beloved figure, selling countless customers the cars of their dreams.
Fred was a lifelong sports enthusiast, devoted to basketball, tennis, golf, and especially football, where he never missed a Texas A&M Aggies game. An avid fisherman, Fred enjoyed spending time on the water, whether or not the fish were biting.
Fred is survived by his beloved wife, Glenda Orvetta (Vee) Snow Haddad of Florence, Mississippi, and his children: Fred Leslie Haddad and wife Erica of Phoenix, Arizona; Priscilla Pelking and husband Scott of El Paso, Texas; Mary Easterling and husband Lloyd of Fredericksburg, Texas; and Nancy King and husband Dell of Nashville, Tennessee, his brother Charlie Haddad of Commerce City, CO; stepson Michael Okies and his wife Hanna of Dallas, Texas; and stepdaughter Kelli Okies Haddad of Florence, Mississippi.
Fred cherished his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always making sure to mark their birthdays and holidays with thoughtful cards. His family, friends, and colleagues will remember him for his kind heart, unfading work ethic, and a love for life that left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Fred’s legacy of love, service, and unshakable optimism will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to know him. We love you Dad.
