Jason Travis Diamond
November 11, 1976 - November 8, 2024
Jason Travis Diamond, 47, passed away on November 8, 2024, in San Antonio, TX, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Jason was born on November 11, 1976, in Berwyn, IL, to Jennifer Carpenter and William Diamond. Jason graduated from Calallen High School in 1995. He went on to attend Texas A&M University in College Station, TX, graduating in 2000 with a degree in Civil Engineering. Jason loved all of the A&M traditions, especially Aggie football.
On January 5, 2002, Jason married the love of his life, Melanie Haisler Diamond. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising three wonderful children: Carson Travis Diamond (19), Kennedi Brooke Diamond (16), and Cade Bradley Diamond (14). Jason was immensely proud of his children, and he could often be found cheering them on at football games, basketball courts, and volleyball matches—attending several of their events each week. His pride in their accomplishments, both on and off the field, was evident to all who knew him.
Jason’s professional life was marked by dedication and excellence. He worked for Pape-Dawson Engineers for almost 24 years, rising to the position of Vice President, where he led major water resources projects for clients such as the San Antonio Water System and the Texas Water Company, but built his career and reputation as a trusted engineer in residential and commercial land development projects. Throughout his career, Jason managed large-scale projects that left a lasting impact on the San Antonio community, including the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort and TPC San Antonio Golf Courses, Cibolo Canyons master planned community, and the University of Texas at San Antonio where he managed the civil engineering for over 10 years for numerous utility, master plan, and major building additions on the main campus and downtown San Pedro I and II buildings. Another of Jason’s signature clients was Comal Independent School District. Jason supported acquisition and planning for new schools for Comal ISD and had the privilege of serving as the civil engineer for Pieper Ranch Middle School and Pieper High School, each were both eventually attended by two of his three children.
Jason and Melanie shared a strong faith and have been members of Bulverde Methodist Church since 2011. Jason participated in a Walk to Emmaus and was part of a men's 4th Day group. He served on the Woodland Hills HOA Board for many years. Jason and Melanie were also members and supporters of Pieper Athletic Booster Club and Schreiner Men's Basketball Backers Club.
Jason is preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, George and Lillian Diamond, Nita Anderson and Jack Klingensmith, as well as his parents, William Diamond and Jennifer Carpenter. Jason is survived by his wife, Melanie Diamond, their sons, Carson and Cade Diamond, their daughter, Kennedi Diamond; sister, Stacy Nelson (Jason); brother, Mark Diamond (Cassie); and 3 beautiful nieces, Lexi Eckhardt (Clayton), Chayse Wilson, and Makenzie Nelson.
Jason was a wonderful son, husband, father, brother, and friend. "In the heart of every Aggie dwells excellence: the unending drive to enrich the world around us." His loss will be felt by many, but the love and legacy he leaves behind will keep his memory alive.
Visitation will be Monday, November 18, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Home in Boerne, TX. A church service will be held at Bulverde Methodist Church on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Hill Country Memorial Gardens, New Braunfels, TX. A lunch reception will be provided by Bulverde Methodist Church following all services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bulverde Methodist Church or a charity of your choice in Jason’s memory. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his faith, and his community.
