Keneta L. (Luedecke) Harvey
March 5, 1950 - August 5, 2024
Keneta L. Luedecke Harvey, age 74, of Royse City, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Aug. 5, 2024.
She was born on March 5, 1950 in Houston, Texas to Gilbert H.O. Luedecke and Ozelle Shadix Luedecke. Keneta met the love of her life, Gary G. Harvey, and they were married at the First Baptist Church in College Station, Texas on April 5, 1969.
After graduating from Texas A&M University in 1974, Keneta taught elementary school for a number of years while being a diligent and loving wife and mother. After experiencing a traumatic health problem that forced her to stop teaching for an extended period, Keneta became an excellent pediatric ultrasound technician at Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She retired from her second career after more than 20 years of service.
Throughout all of their blessed time together, Keneta was, as Gary put it, "his anchor and emotional foundation, COO, CFO and guidance counselor. She has been the beautiful, caring, loving mother to her three children and the most wonderful, loving and supportive wife that ever lived." She was a wonderful grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and great-aunt, as well as a much-loved sister to her four siblings.
She enjoyed sewing as an avocation all of her life. Keneta was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Rockwall, Texas. Her biggest passion was caring for, protecting and loving her family. She enjoyed traveling the world with family, preferably on a cruise. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband: Gary Harvey; sons: Jason Harvey and wife Nicole, and Steven Harvey; son-in-law: Clay Ainley; daughter-in-law: Amy Harvey; grandchildren: Madelyn Harvey and husband Michael, Jacob Harvey, Will Harvey, Paige Harvey, Luke "Tex" Ainley, and Bridget Ainley; great-grandchild: JET Harvey-Rangel; sisters: Gilda King and husband Larry, Florene Bond and husband Jeff, and Kevier Ezell and husband Andy; and many cousins and loving friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Letha R. Ainley.
A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Keneta's life and legacy on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church Rockwall.
