Charles Aurther Daley 

March 25, 1932 - October 16, 2023 

Charles “Chuck” Daley, age 91 of Humboldt, IA passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023 at his home. Funeral services will be 11 AM Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Lentz Funeral Home in West Bend, IA. Burial will take place at West Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 AM until service time at the funeral home. Services have been entrusted to Lentz Funeral Home of West Bend.

Charles Aurther Daley, the son of Tom and Oleanna (Gunderson) Daley, was born on March 25, 1932 in Shelby, Montana. He was the youngest of 10 children. Chuck graduated from high school in 1950. He loved higher education and received degrees from Montana State University, Washington State University, and Texas A&M University. He also proudly served four years as a pilot for the U.S. Air Force.

During his career, Chuck worked with various state and federal agencies in the field of veterinary pathology. Chuck made a lot of friends during this time and kept in touch with many of them through the years. He enjoyed visiting with friends and family, Oregon Folk Sing A Longs, playing cards, reading, and traveling. Chuck and his partner, Shirley, traveled back and forth from Oregon each year making many stops along the way. A six week trip to South Africa was a memorable adventure for both of them.

Left to cherish Chuck’s memory are his partner of more than 20 years, Shirley Ludwig, and her family, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
