Norris Lee Conditt 

June 4, 1934 - October 14, 2024 

Funeral services for Norris Lee Conditt, 90, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Kent Childers officiating. Sunset graveside services will be at 6:00 p.m. at Largent Cemetery, with military honors and under the auspices of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M. There will be friends and family memorial luncheon at 12:00 noon Saturday at the Lufkin Masonic Lodge, 508 N. John Redditt Drive.

Mr. Conditt was born June 4, 1934 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Lela Mae (Russell) and John D. Conditt, and died Monday, October 14, 2024 in a local hospital.

Mr. Conditt was a lifetime resident of Angelina County. He attended Texas A&M University. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, then owned and operated Conditt Construction for many years. He was a Master Mason and Past Master of Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M., and also a Past Grand Officer of the Grand Lodge of Texas. He received many accolades, including a 60-year certificate. He was also a member of the Wells Masonic Lodge #915 A.F. & A.M., Homer Masonic Lodge #254 A.F. & A.M., as well as a member of the Lufkin Chapter #382 Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. Conditt enjoyed hunting, fishing, lodge, and spending time with friends and family. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his son, James “Jim” Conditt; daughter, Donna Conditt Burran; son, Clay Conditt and wife Shanda; daughter, Rhonda Conditt Clover and husband Thomas; grandchildren and spouse, Eric and Lauren Conditt, Katelyn Burran, Kendal Burran, Sabina Conditt, Sarah Clover, Clint Nabours, Haylee Guererro, and Jacob Burran; great-grandchildren, Alaina Joy Burran, Holleigh Grace Burran, Nova Amari Hernandez, Wesley Jacob Burran, Phoenix Conditt, Ender Conditt, Tericx Conditt, and Merida Conditt; siblings, Loise Murphy, Durwood “Dutch” Conditt, Connie Durran, and Clara Monroe; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Lela Mae Conditt; wives, Jerolyn Conditt, Robbie Mettlen Conditt, and Minnie Landrum Conditt; and sister, Sandra Schmidt.

Pallbearers will be Mike “Gork” McNellis, Gilbert Hernandez, Richard “Ricky” Gay, Kenneth “Kenny” Brashear, John Brashear, Maverick Murray, and Eric Conditt.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Collins, Hal Greer, Daniel Ward, John E. Berry, Juan Martinez, Robert McDonald, J. McDonald, Victor Travis, David Lawson, Jodie Reynolds, J.W. Landrum, and Alex Hernandez.

The family extends special thanks to the staff of Larkspur Nursing Home for their care of Mr. Conditt.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Square and Compass Scholarship Fund at Angelina College. Please make checks payable to Angelina College Foundation, note the name of the fund, and mail to 3500 S 1st Street, Lufkin, Texas 75901.
