John Theodore "J.T." Maner 

January 10, 1930 - September 14, 2023 

John “J.T.” Maner of Fredericksburg, TX passed away on September 14, 2023 at the age of 93. He was born on January 10, 1930 to Herman and Nora Langerhans Maner in Fredericksburg, TX. On June 9, 1951 he married Dorothy Ray Merka in Bryan, TX.

J.T. is survived by his wife of 72 years Dorothy Ray Maner; son Rex and and wife Cindy of Fredericksburg; Grandsons Tyler Maner and wife Kelsey of Houston and Travis Maner and wife Jess of Ceilna, Tx.; great grandchildren Micah Maner, Beau Maner, Jake Maner and Josie Maner.

J.T. is preceded in death by his parents Herman and Nora Maner and brother Liston Maner.

J.T. Maner was a graduate of Fredericksburg High School and Texas A&M University. He also worked part time for the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a livestock surveyor. This career allowed him to travel and meet different people which he thoroughly enjoyed. He loved traveling and watching his grandsons high school and college sporting events, as family was very important to J.T.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday September 26th, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. in the Schaetter Funeral Home with Tim Bowyer officiating. Graveside Services and interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation for J.T. Maner will be held on Tuesday September 26th, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Schaetter Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Gillespie County A&M Scholarship Fund, or to the charity of your choice.
