Lieutenant Colonel Guillermo Cisneros passed away peacefully at his home in Mesquite, Texas, on December 6, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on May 1, 1949, in Tijuana, Mexico, Guillermo was the beloved son of the late Carmen Matilde Galvan Pumarejo and Eduardo Cisneros Jimenez.

Guillermo’s journey of dedication and service began with his graduation from Brownsville High School in 1967, after which he earned a bachelor’s degree at Texas A&M University in 1972. Guillermo was commissioned into the Army and shortly thereafter, he married the love of his live, Tamae Patricia Vaden, on April 13, 1972, in Dillon South Carolina.

His commitment to his country was exemplified through his service in the United States Army, where he served with honor in the Special Forces and other positions until his retirement in 1996. Following his military career, Guillermo continued to serve by educating and inspiring America’s youth as a JROTC instructor at Seagoville High School and Conrad High School in Dallas, Texas until 2012.

Guillermo was passionately involved in breeding and racing homing pigeons, and served as a member of the Board in the Dallas Homing Racing Pigeon Club. He was very active in his free time, enjoying racquetball, softball, playing bridge, and took great joy in watching his grandsons participate in youth and high school sports.

Guillermo is survived by his loving wife, Tamae; his three children and their spouses, Antonio (Class of ’98) and Rachel Cisneros, Kristina and Gregory Rinehart, and Leticia and Chase Carter; 4 grandchildren, Isaac, Finnegan, Nathanael and Ronin; his brother Edward, and sisters Leticia and Adriana.

Guillermo Cisneros legacy exemplifies the Aggie Code of Honor, including excellence, integrity, loyalty, leadership, and service. He will be laid to rest at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 29, 2024 from 11am to 1pm at Audubon Recreation Center, 342 West Oates Road, Garland, TX 75043.
