A devout Catholic with unwavering faith, Ray had a generous heart and without hesitation opened his doors to others. A native of Esther, Louisiana, he was surrounded by nature and animals which led to a fulfilling career as a veterinarian. Dr. LaCour was elected as a board member and president of the Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association. As a Gubernatorial appointee, he served on the Board of Veterinary Examiners for six years. He served in numerous roles with the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine while remaining a proud graduate of Texas A&M University.
Ray had a passion for gardening, fishing, and camping. He had an insatiable thirst for knowledge, delving into his French heritage and genealogy with enthusiasm. Always eager to teach, he shared his love of learning through numerous travels with his wife and daughters. Never one to shy from the spotlight, his beautiful singing voice filled the room at family gatherings and was a testament to his love of life and desire to bring joy to those around him.
Upholding the honor of pallbearers will be Lionel Vice, Jesse Viator, Danny Rogers, Jacob Rogers, Blake Theriot, Damon Vincent, and David LaCour. Honorary Pallbearers will be Barrett Viator and Ted Thompson.
