September 20, 1946 - October 25, 2024
Jimmy Ray Messec, age 78, of Maumelle, Arkansas passed away on October 25, 2024. He was born in Jacksonville, Texas on September 20, 1946.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents James Arnold and Melba Faye (Gilbreath) Messec, his son Jeffrey Ryan Messec, and his sister Barbara Fletcher all of Waco, Texas.
He is survived by his wife Linda (Williams) Messec, two sons Chuck Vereen (Ashlea) of North Little Rock, Arkansas and Chris Vereen (Melanie) of Rison, Arkansas, and his grandchildren Mattie Vereen, McCoy Vereen, Gus Vereen, Jack Vereen, Charlea Jo Vereen, Taylor McDaniel, and Kash Wyrick. He is also survived by his sister, Pam Braziel, his niece, Traci Gleitman, and his nephew, Chris Braziel, all of Waco, Texas.
He graduated in the class of 1965 from University High school in Waco, Texas and from Texas A&M in 1972. He later enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Jimmy was a global Financial Consultant for the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, MMC, and the Department of Defense in 32 different countries. Jimmy had a strong faith in Jesus and attended Cedar Heights Baptist Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and enjoyed spending his time on the golf course.
The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice for the care they provided Jimmy.
A private burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, Texas at a later date.
