Timothy Cliff "Tim" Bauer

September 13, 1951 - December 19, 2024

Timothy “Tim” Cliff Bauer, 73, of Winnie, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at his home in Kerrville, Texas. He was born on September 13, 1951, in Beaumont to Patricia and Leroy Bauer.

Tim was a member of Grace Methodist Church in Winnie, Texas, and a lifelong resident of the Winnie-Stowell community. He met his high school sweetheart, Vicki Cuniff, while attending East Chambers ISD. Upon graduating high school in 1970, Tim attended Texas A&M University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy in 1973. While attending Texas A&M, Tim and Vicki married his senior year, and upon graduating, they returned home where he farmed rice and raised Red Angus cattle until 1984. In 1985, he began working as an insurance and financial planning advisor for Aid Association for Lutherans. In 1998, Tim & Vicki moved back into the original Bauer Ranch Homestead and remodeled the residence highlighting the family history and significance of Bauer Ranch. In 2002, he started his own financial advisement agency, Texas Financial. Tim revived his role of the Bauer Ranch cattle operation in 2011, establishing his award winning F1 Braford herd. While working the ranch, Tim & Vicki created the memorable event venue Bauer Ranch Special Occasions which was known for Legendary Texas Hospitality. Tim retired from Texas Financial in 2015, and continued his passion for ranching for seven years. In 2023, Tim and Vicki moved to Kerrville, Texas, where he enjoyed his golden years with his bride and their two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Tootsie and ZaZa.

Tim, with his John Wayne personality, served in various leadership roles. He was president of the Winnie Area Chamber of Commerce for two years followed by a two-year term as president of the Texas Rice Festival, following in the footsteps of his grandfather and father. Additionally, Tim served as the president of the Texas Red Angus Association and was a generous supporter of the American Cancer Society where he and Vicki chaired the Cattle Barons Ball in 2016.

Tim shared many hobbies and interests. He had an impressive firearm and knife collection, was an avid hunter of North America big game, and loved to fish anywhere and everywhere he got the chance. Throughout the years Tim and Vicki acquired a notable collection of Western Art and often became close acquaintances with the artists.

Tim had a strong faith in the Lord and walked with Jesus daily. He instilled this belief in his three children: Lance, Cody, and Brooke. Tim led a full life filled with world-class experiences and a deep love for the Lord. He often said that his greatest accomplishment and legacy were the lives his children now lead.

Tim is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Vicki Cuniff Bauer, of Kerrville, Texas; his children: Lance Bauer and his wife, Lisa, of Winnie, Texas; Cody Bauer and his wife, Jami, of Winnie, Texas; and Brooke Bauer Bozarth and her husband, Cooper, of Niceville, Florida. He is also survived by his sister, Connie Kiker (Ben), and brothers, Leroy Bauer (Karen), and Hobart Bauer (Faye); and his grandchildren: Ethan Hughes, Kylie Bauer, Rylie Bauer, Emmerson Bauer, Addison Bauer, Kaylee Navarre, Addyson Navarre, Presley Navarre, Leigha Grace Bozarth, Lincoln Bauer Bozarth; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
