April 10, 1962 - December 30, 2024 

Peter Lobdell Philp, II, born on April 10, 1962, in Fairbanks, Alaska, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 30, 2024, in San Diego, California, at the age of 62. Peter was the beloved son of Peter and Patricia Philp and grew up alongside his siblings Paul, Deborah (Earle Edomm) and Patrick. Peter shared a remarkable 34-year partnership with his devoted wife, Dawn Stache, and together they built a life filled with laughter, love and purpose, raising three children: Nicole, Jennifer (Cameron Fedeli), and Peter, III. His two grandchildren, Carson and Collins, were the light of his life and brought him immense joy. He was a cherished uncle to his nephews Ryan and Jake.

A graduate of Jesuit High School in Dallas (Class of 1980), Peter pursued higher education at Texas A&M University. Following graduation, he embarked on a distinguished military career in the United States Navy as a Naval Flight Officer. After 14 years of honorable service, Peter retired as a Lieutenant Commander from the Navy. In 2006, he earned his Juris Doctorate from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego.

Peter's vibrant personality and boundless energy made him a friend to all who crossed his path. Known for his infectious joie de vivre, he had a special connection with people and animals. While he shared his life with various pets, his favorite companion was Logan, the Timberwolf. Peter's legacy is one of love, laughter, and service. He will be deeply missed by all who know him. May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his loss.

In place of flowers, memorials may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org or the charity of your choice. Funeral Service at Christ The King Catholic Church, 8017 Preston Rd., Dallas, TX on Friday, January 17th, 2025 at 11:00 am. Reception to follow.
