Rayford A. Cagle 

July 4, 1934 - January 5, 2025 

Rayford A. Cagle, ago 90 of Burnet, Texas passed away at home on January 5, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, A.L. and Louise Cagle, his wife, Imogene Cagle, and his sister and brother-in-law Sue and Norman Farris.

Ray is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Roger and Mechele Cagle of Sulphur Springs, Texas; his daughter and son-in-law Karen and Julio Lopes of Burnet; his sister, Cathy Wood of Post Oak, Texas, and his niece Lori Jones and children Jamie and Dakota Jones of Post Oak, Texas.

After graduating high school, Ray went into the Air Force and was stationed in Iceland, and where met his wife and soulmate in Maryland. Ray then went to college at Texas A&M University.

In 1968, Ray became the County Extension Agent of Burnet County. While in this role, he became involved in the community and with 4-H kids and their projects until he retired in 1992. Ray loved to fish and hunt with his friends.

There will be a visitation for family and friends on Sunday January 12, 2025, from 5-7pm at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. Funeral service for Ray will be held at First Methodist Church at 2:00 pm on Monday January 13, 2025, with burial to follow at Post Mountain Cemetery.
