Donald Frank Boren

Donald Frank Boren, age 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Tomball, Texas, on February 19, 2025, with his loving wife by his side.
He was born to Frank and Ruth (Babcock) Boren on May 6, 1939, in Denison, Texas, and was raised in McKinney, Texas.
After graduating from McKinney High School, he attended Texas A & M College. He was a member of the Fighting Texas Aggie Band all four years and served as leader in Bugle Rank in the band during his senior year. He graduated from Texas A & M in 1961 and joined the United States Air Force immediately after. He was stationed in Montana where he worked in the Minute Man Missile program and also in San Bernardino, California.
After the Air Force he went to work for Texas Instruments in the engineering department for over 20 years. He then went to work for Compaq Computer Corporation until his retirement in 2001.
He married Carol Pratt in 1994. They enjoyed many happy years of dancing, cruising, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He loved going to Disney World where he could be a kid again.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ruth Boren, his sister Barbara and her husband James Gregory.
Don is survived by his wife, Carol; his son, Parrish and his partner Diana of Denver, Colorado; his son Todd and his wife Michele of Valrico, Florida; his step-son, Robert Pratt of Tomball, Texas; and his step-daughter, Lisa Hinrichs and her husband Joey of Stagecoach, Texas. He had eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Klein Funeral Home - CyFair Northwest, 9719 Wortham Boulevard, Houston, TX 77065. A funeral service will take place beginning at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. A committal service with military honors will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Houston National Cemetery.
