March 25, 1940 - February 20, 2025
Dr. Gary Tucker Robinson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed from this life on Thursday, February 20, 2025, in Warner Robins, Georgia, at the age of 84. He was known to all as Tucker or Dr. Robinson. Tucker was born on March 25, 1940, in Gonzales County, Texas, to parents Howard Grey and Mary Borrer Robinson.
As a child, he enjoyed fishing with his brother and friends, working with his father, and tending to the livestock on the family farm. After graduating from Waelder High School, he went on to attend Southwest Texas State College, where he completed one year before transferring to Texas A&M, where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science in May of 1962 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in December of 1964. Tucker married the love of his life, Emily Ruth Buffington, on January 28, 1964. He then served as Captain in the United States Air Force in Altus, Oklahoma, until 1966.
Tucker and Emily moved to Richmond in February 1966, where they chose to have and raise their family while serving the community throughout his career at the Rose-Rich Veterinary Clinic until his retirement. He was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church, the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinarian Medical Association, and the Harris County Veterinary Medical Association.
Tucker is preceded in death by his parents, wife Emily, brother Thomas Robinson, father and mother-in-law James Frank and Mary Sadler Buffington, sisters-in-law Sue Hoffman and Lynda McCreary.
He is survived by children Kenneth Robinson (Diana), Cynthia Koenig (James); Grandchildren Michael Robinson (Kristy), Rachel Ringler (Ryan), Rebekah, Tucker, Trevor, Timothy, Elizabeth, Amelia, Heidi, and Daniel Koenig, and great-granddaughters Emily and Katelyn Robinson; sister-in-law Phyllis Robinson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Village of Sugar Land Assisted Living, The Phoenix Assistant Living Facility, and Heartland Hospice for their loving care during his final journey.
Tucker's life will be remembered with a visitation on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM and funeral services at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, Rosenberg, Texas. Burial will immediately follow at Morton Cemetery in Richmond, Texas.
