Melissa Marshan "Cissy" St. John 

June 29, 1966 - January 15, 2025 

Melissa (Cissy) Marshan St. John, age 58, of Fairview, Texas, passed away on January 15, 2025. She was born on July 29, 1966, to Waymon Gilbert and Freeda Mae (Faircloth) St. John in Jacksonville, Florida. Cissy was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, Class of 1989, in College Station, Texas.

Cissy began her career at Texas Instruments (TI) as a cooperative education student in the ASIC Product Engineering Department. After earning her degree, she accepted an employment offer from TI as a Product Engineer, and in 1998, she was elected a Member of the Group Technical Staff. Throughout her career, Cissy held various Program Manager positions and retired from TI’s Analog Engineering Organization in 2018, after 32 years of dedicated service.

Cissy, along with her late husband, cherished their time spent with family and friends, as well as their travels. They were both passionate about giving back to their community, volunteering their time and talents to numerous organizations in the Dallas area. Cissy’s volunteer work included involvement with the Contact Counseling and Crisis Line, Best of Texas Robotics Competition, the Allen Americans Fan Club, the Texas Master Naturalist Blackland Prairie Chapter, and the Collin County Master Gardeners Association. She recently received the President’s Volunteer Service Award by AmeriCorps. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Allen, Texas.

Cissy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Richard Suder. She is survived by her brother, Gary St. John and wife Diana of Virginia Beach, Virginia; nephews, Joshua St. John of Jacksonville, Florida and Carter St. John of Virginia Beach, Virginia; her brother, Bryan St. John of McKinney, Texas; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Rita Suder of Denton, Texas; sister-in-law, Darlene Turner and husband Tom of Denton, Texas; niece, Bailey Turner; nephews, Jace and Maxwell Turner; as well as a large circle of dear friends who were blessed to know her.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway N., Allen, Texas 75013. A celebration of Cissy’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on January 20, 2025 at First United Methodist Church of Allen, Texas. Interment will occur at Ridgeview Memorial Park.
