Allan Lee Locke 

December 14, 1938 - January 22, 2025 

Allan Lee Locke, 86, passed away on January 22, 2025 at Longmeadow Nursing Home in Justin, Texas. He was born on December 14, 1938 in Del Rio, Texas to Morgan Closs and Thelma Jones Locke.

Allan grew up in Del Rio, Texas. He graduated from Del Rio High School in 1957. After high school he attended Texas A & M in College Station, Texas studying Civil Engineering. In January, 1963 he joined the US Army and served 4 years; one of which was in Korea as a surveyor. He was awarded a Good Conduct Medal and Expert Sharpshooter Marksman medal. He was honorably discharged in 1967 achieving the rank of SP4. Allan began work for the Texas Department of Transportation as a civil engineer where he worked for 40+ years.

Allan married Betty Bryant in 1986 and they were happily married for 36 years. Allan was strong in faith and was a member of the Retta Baptist Church. Allan loved God above all, Betty, family, fishing, gardening and attending or watching Texas A&M football games (some of them over & over). He enjoyed country music, especially Barbara Mandrell and, of course, Elvis!

Allan was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty, his parents, a sister Shirley and a brother Morgan.

Allan is survived by a son Dennis (Kay) Henderson of Flower Mound, Texas, brothers Kenneth Locke of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, Larry (Doris) Locke of Bryan, Texas and best friend "Scooter" of Del Rio, Texas along with several nieces and nephews.

The family extends their gratitude to Longmeadow Nursing Home for their constant care of both Allan & Betty and friends and neighbors for their love and support over the years.

Allan was a devout Christian and lived his life faithfully serving God and bringing joy and love to all who knew him.

John 11:25 Jesus said to him, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die".
