Charles worked as an engineer for Gulf Oil Refinery in Port Arthur, Texas; Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He retired in 1986 to his birthplace of Washington, Texas.

A devoted servant to his community and the churches he attended, Charles readily shared his talents, skills, and expertise. Woodworking and welding were also sources of great enjoyment. Many learned from Charles, and he always strived for excellence in all he did. His strong work ethic and unwavering faith were an inspiration to all who knew him.

Above all, Charles will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and Opa. He created a wonderful life for his family. His grandchildren will cherish memories of tractor rides, fishing, and the many projects they built together.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Gladys Buck, and his brother-in-law, Winfred Finke. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, JoAnn Buck; his son, Max Buck, and his wife, Michelle; his daughter, Jennifer Buck Stevens, and her husband, Robert; his grandchildren, Jacob Buck, Cameron Buck, William Stevens, and Benjamin Stevens; his sister, Joyce Finke; and numerous nieces and nephews.
