June 17, 1925 - February 21, 2025
George Henderson Brazzel entered into his eternal rest on February 21, 2025 in Sugar Land, Texas at the age of 99.
George was born on June 17, 1925 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cecil Loda Gilman, his father Jordan Henderson Brazzel, and his wife Reba Faye Brazzel. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Sue Brazzel of Houston, Texas, several nieces and nephews, and many friends among his church family.
George proudly served his country in the Marine Corps during World War II. On June 4, 1949, George and Reba Faye Mitchell were married at the Polytechnic Church of Christ in Fort Worth, Texas.
George graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and devoted his life to a career in that field.
George was a member of the Westbury Church of Christ in Houston, Texas. For many years, he worked as a faithful servant in the prison ministry and in the food pantry. We are encouraged to know that these words apply to George: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing” (2 Timothy 4:7-8) Rest well in the Lord, our brother and friend. You will be missed.
A graveside for George will be held Monday, March 3, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Shannon Rose Hill Funeral Chapel & Cemetery, 7301 E Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76112.
