Barry James Hannes
November 24, 1957 - March 15, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we remember Barry James Hannes, who passed away on March 15, 2025, at the age of 57. Born on November 24, 1957, in Houston, Texas, to James and Doris (Greater) Hannes, Barry brought joy, warmth, and laughter to everyone around him.
Barry graduated from Texas A&M University, and was an Aggie to the core - he enjoyed watching the football games and open to conversations that was about the school and events. A lover of life, Barry found joy in simple pleasures, from fishing to attending social events, and his presence was always a highlight at any gathering. He had the soul of an entertainer, never passing up an opportunity to engage in lively conversation or share a good laugh. He was a man who appreciated connections with others and always made time for those around him, whether it was a friendly chat or a heartfelt visit.
Barry was preceded in death by his loving parents, James and Doris Hannes, whose love and guidance shaped the kind, genuine man he became. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories, and his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
He is survived by his brother Rodney Hannes (Carol Lynn) and his sister Darla Riggan (Terence). His nieces and nephews —Brenton, Garrett, Ashley, Ariel, and Tristan — will forever carry his memory with love and pride.
Barry’s warm heart, generous spirit, and love for life will be missed by all who knew him. As we remember him, we are reminded of the joy he brought into our lives, and the laughter that will forever echo in our memories.
Barry, you will never be forgotten. May you rest in peace.
