About Us
Established in the summer of 2023, the Industrial Distribution Aggies became the newest Constituent Network under The Association of Former Students of Texas A&M University.
Industrial Distribution is a major within the Dwight Look College of Engineering, combining the tenets of both business and engineering into one degree. Created in 1956, the ID department is renowned worldwide for its research partnerships, consulting projects, and student involvement with Industry from many sectors, including but not limited to: Electrical, Fluid Power, HVAC, Technology, Plumbing, Metals, Plastics, Construction, etc. It is a balanced relationship between research projects in sales, compensation, talent acquisition/retention, inventory management/optimization, alongside partnering and networking with those industries on behalf of the students graduating from the department.
The Master’s in Industrial Distribution (MID), was created as an online distance program for working professionals in 2001. Designed for those looking to further their careers in leadership roles while continuing to work full time, this program has been a massive success, graduating over 700 professionals in the last 20 years.
Many graduates of the ID program would say that their most prominent memories while going through the major involved participating, leading and supporting the student led organization, PAID (Professional Association for Industrial Distribution). It remains the largest student organization on campus. Most of us can credit our early leadership experience opportunities, networking skills, and job prospects to this wonderful organization, that many stay involved with post-graduation. This new constituent network aims to give our former students the ability to continue that networking and comradery as professionals.
Mission Statement
Our mission statement is simple: To connect with, network, and maintain relationships with our Industrial Distribution Alumni. We aim to provide job opportunities, hiring resources and social events. It is a PAID organization for grownups!
