Seth McKinney Biography

Highly recruited out of high school, Seth McKinney made an early commitment to Texas A&M University during his junior year in 1995.  McKinney was a two time first-team all-state tackle for Westlake High School in Austin, Texas and helped earn the Division-II 5A State Championship in 1996, along with classmate and quarterback Drew Brees.

While at Texas A&M, Seth was a four year starter with 50 consecutive starts, second most in A&M history. McKinney started as a freshman on the Aggies’ 1998 Big 12 Championship team where he earned Freshman All-American honors after starting every game for the Aggies at center. While playing football, McKinney earned his BBA in Information and Operations Management in 2000, followed by his Masters Degree in Management Information Systems in 2002.

Following his tenure at Texas A&M University, McKinney was named to the ALL Big XII Tenth Anniversary Team and to the University Interscholastic League All-Century Team.

Seth McKinney was a third-round draft choice by the Miami Dolphins in the 2002 NFL Draft.  In his rookie year he played in all 16 games.  In 2005 he was part of the offensive line that allowed only 26 sacks, the fourth lowest in the league.  In 2007, McKinney signed with the Cleveland Browns and in 2009, signed by the Buffalo Bills.

Currently, McKinney is employed as an Associate with Crews & Associates, specializing in investment banking, underwriting, and public finance.

Seth and his wife Paige are proud Aggie graduates, and have three beautiful daughters.  He is the son of TAMUS Chancellor Emeritus Mike McKinney and Lou Ann.  McKinney’s older brother, Steve, played as an offensive lineman for the Aggies during the nineties, after which he was drafted into the NFL by the Indianapolis Colts and was the first franchise pick by the Houston Texans.  Together, the brothers have a combined twenty years in the NFL.   Seth’s younger brother, Sean, is a member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Class of 2012.
