Fellow Aggies,

Obviously Muster will be a little different this year, but that does not excuse us from our obligation as Aggies to come together (at least in someway) to remember our fellow Aggies who have passed away since we last mustered.  For purposes of the 2020 Muster, it is in our best interests to follow the lead of the campus Muster and the advice of the Muster Committee, as well as other guidelines recommended by our federal and state governments.

Fortunately, we live in a modern age where technology is able to bring us all together even when we cannot meet in person. The March 1923 Texas Aggie urged, “If there is an A&M man in one hundred miles of you, you are expected to get together, eat a little, and live over the days you spent at the A&M College of Texas.”  Obviously things were slightly different in 1923, but for purposes of the 2020 Texarkana Area A&M Club Muster, perhaps we can say, “If there is an A&M man or woman in one hundred miles of you who has internet access, you are expected to virtually get together, eat a little while in front of your computer, and live over the days you spent at the A&M College of Texas.”

With that in mind, the Texarkana Area A&M Club will be posting a “virtual” Muster on the club Facebook page and on YouTube. We considered a Muster via Facebook live, but decided to take a slightly different direction. Our virtual Muster will be posted on our Facebook and YouTube page at 1800 hours (6:00 pm for the non-regs).

Our Facebook page can be accessed at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/TXKAggieClub.
Our YouTube page can be accessed at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCo_VFuGsk9i8ms95RyzcJAA

If you would like to have someone added to the Roll Call list, please email me at txkaggie@gmail.com. Include the name and class year of the person you want added.

I have also posted the list of Aggies who have passed that is provided by the Association on our Facebook page (click here to access the file).
Please get me the roll call names by Sunday at 3:00 pm so that I can ensure we have all of the names included.

In addition to “attending” the virtual Muster program, I also want to encourage everyone to reach out to a few Aggies on Muster Day. Call or have a Zoom meeting an old buddy from your time at A&M. Call an Aggie neighbor or local Aggie. Find a way to connect. We may not be able to physically get together, but that doesn’t mean that we have to lose sight of what Muster is really about. Find a way Ags!

Thanks and Gig’em,
Ben
