Howdy!
There will be an informal/formal Muster taking place on the beach at Texas SandFest in Port Aransas starting at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2024. This will be a casual event with a formal Roll Call. The event will consist of a short ceremony comprised of a reading of both the Muster Tradition and the Last Corps Trip. It will then be followed by the Roll Call for the Absent and the playing of Silver Taps. After a few brief remarks, Muster will be concluded with the collective singing of The Spirit of Aggieland. Everything will most likely take about an hour. The event will be followed with light refreshments, so plan to stick around for some Aggie fellowship. If you like, please bring something to share.
This Muster is open to every Aggie and anyone supporting Aggies. (Non-Aggies are welcome to join, although the highest level of respect is requested as this is our most solemn tradition.) It is being put on by a family of Aggies and not by a club or official organization. Please come and meet your fellow Aggies on the beach at Texas SandFest. Over the past 20 years attending Texas SandFest, this is the third time that dates have overlapped and we have been able to host Muster.
The name of the booth where the event takes place is called "Get Dirty! Play in the Sand" and is located somewhere in the middle of the vendor area. Look for the big Aggie flag. There is no close parking so please factor that into your arrival process and timing. We look forward to seeing you there!
