George Roy Pickard of Priddy, Texas died on Monday, May 2 at the age of 85.

Born July 18, 1925, Roy was a long time resident of Rosenberg.

He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Moody.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marilyn and children, Chip Pickard, Lynn Pickard Plagens, Jud Pickard, Frank Pickard, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Roy graduated from Rosenberg High School and was owner/operator of Pickard & Huggins Drug Store.

He left Rosenberg in 1968 and graduated from Texas A&M in 1972.

He was a member of United Methodist Church in Zephyr and was active in Kairos Prison Ministry.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday May 4, at the Fulshear Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at the Zephyr UMC on Thursday, May 12 at 4 p.m.
